What to do in Barcelona in September?

Barcelona is an outstanding city that can be enjoyed all year round. Every month of the calendar presents a special event and its activities are constantly multiplying. September is one of the most beautiful months for different reasons: the summer heat has diminished, the sunsets are clearer, the streets are not crowded and you can still enjoy the most picturesque sea in the world: the Mediterranean. Below, we will present you with different activities to do in Barcelona during September.

  • Barceloneta and beaches: Barceloneta is one of the most emblematic beaches in the city. There are tourists who come from all over the world and food lovers can enjoy cuisines from many different origins. It is also a great place for youngsters to get together, which is why sports practices are such popular activities. There is never a ball missing in the sand. The more distant beaches, such as Nova Icaria, are quieter and more relaxed, with the same Mediterranean beauty and less crowds of people.

  • Gaudí Route: Antonio Gaudí is the most outstanding Catalan architect in history. The city of Barcelona has been able to develop its art in its maximum expression and its legacy is a true heritage of humanity. The Expiatory Temple of La Sagrada Familia is one of the most wonderful sites known in the world. It is an activity that takes many hours to explore as each detail reveals a universe of findings. The Casa Batlló, with its maritime imprints, and the mythical Güell Park, in the hills of the city, are other must-sees to bring your tour around this architect to an end.

  • Gótico District: the oldest part of Barcelona offers a journey through time. Narrow streets, clothes hung from building to building, and ancient constructions are some of the expressions it offers. The Cathedral of Santa Eulalia, from the 14th century, is a clear example of Gothic architecture. A recommendation for this neighbourhood: visit it on foot and let yourself be lost by its endless streets.

  • Yacht excursion: sailing around the Mediterranean is something you have to do sometime in your life. Contemplating a sunrise or sunset allows us to see with absolute clarity the colours of one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The mountainous beauty of Barcelona can be seen from the sea or air. This activity is ideal to do with family, as a couple, or with friends, because everyone will be amazed by it.
