Sant Antoni is one of the quintessential neighborhoods of Barcelona. It is quiet and non crowded but at the same very close to the hustle in downtown. At a distance of a stroll you will find yourself in the middle of Plaza Catalunya and Las Ramblas. But in the opposite direction and at the same distance you will find Plaza España and the Fira de Barcelona.
This typical district of the Eixample follows the wellknown plan designed by the architect Cerdà. It divides the city center into grids, creating interior courtyards, that allows us to move around easily.
It also has one of the most spectacular modernist markets in which you can find all kinds of food, clothing or accessories, and on Sundays evreyone meets there to swap almost anything you can collect. Nevertheless, the picturesque joins modernity, as these businesses coexist with trendy bars and fine dining restaurants as the tapas of the Adrià brothers.
It is also well connected by metro. Poble Sec (green line) and Rocafort (red line) are nearby.
