He has also been a consultant for firms including Deloitte, and Arup, as well as for several local authorities and public institutions.

Fernando Sitges Breiter is the new Chief Financial Officer

As Chief Financial Officer, Fernando Sitges Breiter is responsible with immediate effect for managing the finance and accounting department at Engel & Völkers Development Spain. He started his career as financial auditor at Deloitte.

Engel & Völkers Development Spain acquires 100,000 square metres in the “Villaverde” area of Madrid

“Villaverde” is located strategically on the A-4 motorway (Carretera de Andalucía), one of the most important industrial and logistics corridors to the south of Madrid. Being inside the City of Madrid it is ideal to develop last mile logistic projects. It also benefits from very good transport links to the nearby city centre and to national motorways. Engel & Völkers Development Spain has started the year with a portfolio of approximately 100,000 square metres in this logistics area, becoming one of the leading developers of logistics in the south of Madrid. Engel & Völkers Development has kicked off the development of three modular logistics parks that will meet the highest quality and latest technological standards. The warehouse units will range ween 2,000 and 10,000 square metres in size, with a total rentable surface area of approximately 50,000 square metres. “Our strong logistics bet is profiting from the growth of online trading, which has increased even faster as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, and the growing demand for logistics real estate that is associated with this development,” says Ricardo Grañón Avilés, Managing Director of Engel & Völkers Development Spain, adding, “We look forward to embarking on more projects in anticipation of the bright future in the logistics sector.” The “Villaverde” logistics park is ideally suited for the needs requested by “last mile logistics” players. Supplier companies are being forced to turn their attention more and more to the optimisation of their delivery chains and transport routes, as they are increasingly sending small shipments to private households in addition to traders and retailers. The “last mile” here refers to shipment right up to the customer’s front door, i.e. the very last part in the supply chain. Companies are making efforts to bundle their individual product shipments in such a way that enables fast and efficient tours to be made to the delivery areas.
