Engel & Völkers Madrid with the Reina Sofia Foundation for fighting Alzheimer disease

Engel & Völkers Madrid, your trusted real estate agency, has sponsored the gala dinner, which was held at the Villa Magna Hotel on Tuesday, October 24th. This charity dinner was organised by the organisation, AIDE, (International Association of Diplomats in Spain). The gala dinner was hosted by the president of AIDE, wife of the ambassador of Turkey, Mrs. Meltem Önhon. In addition to this iconic Madrid venue, the event had a raffle, a silent auction, live music and further surprises for the guests. It was a unique occasion that brought together an event of this kind to help raise awareness about Alzheimer's disease and offered all the guests the chance to enjoy a Gala dinner located in such a symbolic area of ​​the city of Madrid.

The AIDE organisation was founded in the year 1984 by the women of the diplomatic bodies accredited in Spain. S.A.R Mrs. Sofia is the honourary president of this organisation who offers different activities and social events in order to raise funds for different Spanish charities. These types of events are characterised by a multicultural and multilingual setting, because it welcomes members from more than 50 countries.

All the funds raised will go to the Reina Sofía Foundation so that they can continue advancing in their research work with the purpose of helping Alzheimer's patients. This foundation has an intense activity with different projects, among them, as an outstanding priority, is the Alzheimer project. This is composed of different campaigns that are intended to raise awareness in the society and find treatment for this disease. In addition, it has research projects and healthcare partners, such as the PARO project, collaborations with international foundations such as Price Waterhouse Coopers, support from different ministries and contracts to develop collaborative works with other countries, such as Portugal.

The Reina Sofía Foundation helps people suffering from Alzheimer together with their families in order to improve their health by researching different neuro-degenerative diseases. As well as the gala dinner at the Villa Magna hotel sponsored by Engel & Völkers, other events, seminars, summits and even coordinated initiatives for sending medicines to countries with patients in need of professional care and medication. Examples of this are the delivery of a vehicle to the Alzheimer's centre at Reina Sofía de Vallecas, a project for early detention of the disease and the agreement with Normon pharmaceutical laboratories for the delivery of medicines that were later distributed in Spain as well as in Latin American countries. Also several summits and congresses organised throughout the years in different Spanish cities, in which they were congregated during several days to different experts, doctors and investigators, both nationally and internationally.

These types of charitable dinners are perfect for the interested benefactors of this cause and in this way, they can get access to valuable resources with which to carry on with their extensive research on this neuro-degenerative disease that seriously affects the elderly.
