Interview with Enrique Diviú, Sales Director of Majadahonda

  • How do you tackle the challenge of running the Majadahonda area?

It is an exciting challenge. I started working for Engel & Völkers in 2014 as an adviser and after gaining such a great experience, I hope to be able to pass on my experience to my team who work hard and make working at Engel & Völkers very enjoyable and fun. 

  • What aspects of this municipality would you highlight the most? 

Majadahonda is one of the most sought-after areas in Madrid for various reasons. One of the main ones is its proximity to Madrid as it is located just 18km from the centre and is perfectly connected by bus and train. We must also add the direct exit to bus-vao on the Coruña motorway. This area is endowed with everything necessary to guarantee a quality of life that's difficult to find in other municipalities of Madrid. It has many great educational offers with eight public schools, four primary schools, three private schools, four kindergartens, two special education colleges, four secondary schools, a vocational training institution, the Vocational Music and the Municipal School of Music as well as the official language school. Another aspect in which Majadahonda stands out the most is its great sports offer, since it counts on multitude of stadiums with soccer fields and athletic venues, where you can practice all types of sports in the most recognised private clubs, such as Las Rejas Golf Club.

In all the northwest region, we have several offices where you will be able to visit. Our customers can come to the branches in Las Rozas, Pozuelo and Aravaca.

  • Are there any fashionable places within Majadahonda that have become popular recently?

One of the areas that has lately become so popular is ​​Monte del Pilar, where many beautiful property developments have taken place. These urbanisations are fully equipped with large landscaped areas, sports facilities such as paddle tennis courts, heated swimming pools, and gyms. What's more, they are all surrounded by greenery and nature, which have enhanced the beauty of this area together with Pinar del Plantio. All this together with the proximity to the centre of Majadahonda and all its regions, the commercial and leisure activities, with many restaurants and places to enjoy with family and friends make this area one of the most sought-after by our clients.

  •  Are the highest incomes always found in the areas with the highest price per square metre?

Generally yes. There are luxurious urbanisations that the owners have been living in for many years and there is usually very few homes that are put on the market. This is why the price per square metre is usually high.

  • And if we want to sell our house in Majadahonda, do you consider the current market favourable for a good sale? 

This is a fantastic time to put the house up for sale as there is a great demand for
clients who are looking for their first home to live in Majadahonda. Most of the locals who already live here and are looking to move to another house almost always stay in the municipality.
