Furthermore, it is the dream of many tourists, regardless of whether they come in groups or as a couple, to take photos of this amazing scene for long lasting memories. Madrid is the city to come to for watching the sunset every day of the year. So if you are thinking of coming for sightseeing in this great city, you won't miss that magical moment when the sun bathes the big city before disappearing over the horizon. There are some places in Madrid with particularly spectacular views of the sunset. Watching the sun go down is an unforgettable experience that you will cherish forever.

Templo Debod is one such great place in Madrid to watch the sunsets. Visiting this temple, which was donated by Egyptians, is essential at any time of the year, with its stunning views of Catedral de la Almudena and the Palacio Real. Templo Debod is the oldest monument in the city, with over 2,000 years of history, and is located near Plaza de España. The spectacularly red sunset from this temple is a magical scene that no-one should miss out on.

The second most popular place in Madrid to watch the sunset is the Palacio Real, especially from its northern facade of the Sabatini Gardens, in Bailén street. Aside from the sunset, you can also see the imposing Palacio de Oriente tinged with colour, with Casa de Campo in the background. Quite a spectacle in the historic centre of Madrid.

There is another place with views of Madrid, but neither is well known or frequented because it is in a remote location, in Vallecas. Parque del Cerro del Tio Pio, also called "siete tetas" because of its odd shape, is on seven hills of a former heap. It is not a usual tourist destination in Madrid, but from the four towers, you get a view of Plaza de Castilla, la Castellana, the centre, and even the mountains in the background. The sunset over this landscape is breathtaking.

El Retiro, the king of the parks in the capital, offers a beautiful sunset from the monument in Alfonso XII, which crowns over the pond for its eastern part. The sky turns very different hues until nightfall, mixed with trees and pond reflections. Cristal Palace is also a place of great beauty during sunset.
