Today, the 125 hectares of space populated with over 15,000 trees will be distributed in five areas suitable for daytime and nighttime enjoyment of citizens. This is a soulful place that aspires to become the cultural and gastronomic centre of Madrid.
The old Sala, an iconic stage that appeared in many television programmes and end-of-year shows featuring artists like Ray Charles and Tina Turner, has been modernised to represent the true heart of the place. Destined to host live weekend shows, the venue will begin on Thursday with Chattanooga Club offering dance and music served by a big band of 18 performers and a first class artist whose name will not be revealed until the day of the performance.
On Fridays and Saturdays, the Sala aims to offer great shows. For starters, the Yllana company, the most prestigious today, will cover the first reopening nights with its Pandora nights.
Regarding gastronomy, the main offering from Florida Retiro will be its restaurant The El Pabellón Restaurant is a fresh and elegant premise equipped with low tables and a central bar with the presence of a large tree. Its large windows allow you to enjoy views of the park. The menu is committed to foods and wines from the local region. La Galería is on the opposite side and is an informal tapas bar.
On the roof terrace of the restaurant, the half hidden magical corner among treetops overlooking Madrid enjoys enviable sun sunsets, based on the raw bar concept. The offer is completed with a market, kiosk areas with high tables and a variety of different cuisines with a clear connection to Retiro.
