As well as the traditional events taking place there are plenty of equestrian activities, parades and dancing, shows especially for the children, live music and a long etc., the final highlight being the firework display, which is last on the agenda and enjoyed by all.
On the 7th of September, the festivities begin with an opening speech. Followed by the so-called Fabioler who asks the Caixer Fadrí, one of the horsemen, to begin the Replec, which is the assembling of the horsemen. The riders make their way to the townhall square on their magnificently decorated horses and from there the caragol begins, the "snail ride" through the old town of Mahón, the riders show off their horses, which dance impressively on their hind legs. The riders then move on to the church of Santa Maria, where the Caixer Capellà is already waiting to join them. In the evening, the horses dance to music at the first Jaleo. On the 8th of September, the festivities begin again at around 7 a.m. The fabioler and the horsemen reunite and walk through Mahon together, towards the townhall, where their horses are gathered. This is followed by a parade of specially chosen horses that pull the carriage holding the statue of La Mare de Déu de Gràcia to the church of Santa Maria, where a special mass is held. Afterwards, the crowds look forward to the next Jaleo in the main square of Mahón. In the evening, the fabioler gathers the riders once again to begin the races that begin around 7 p.m. The grand finale of the Fiestas de la Mare de Déu de Gràcia de Maó is a fantastic firework display.
