The town is just 15 kilometers away of the capital and has a population of 18,450 habitants, near Boadilla there are other very luxurious and calm small towns like Majadahonda, Pozuelo de Alarcón, Alcorcón, Villaviciosa and Villanueva de la Cañada.
This city experienced strong population growth in the mid-seventies due to the establishment of a large number buildings and a lot of family residences. In the coming years it will experience a new great increase in population due to the liberalization of large areas of land that are already getting urbanized. The main residential areas, in addition to the old town, are called Montepríncipe luxury residential, Olivar de Mirabal, Parque Boadilla, Bonanza and Las Lomas, known as historical residential areas. Valdecabañas has a superb location with access to the M-50 and the old town of Boadilla.
