The Atxondo Valley offers a number of "caserios" of great historical and ethnographic value. In the seventeenth century, in the Duranguesado, it is lavished a type of "caserio" with one or two masonry arches on the facade, the Zearreta Caserio (XVII) in Apatamonasterio, with prominent Baroque ornamentation and stonework. The Zearreta Caserio is one of the most spectacular of the municipality, together with the "Caserio" built in 1519. The Ollargan "caserio" in Arrazola, is considered the oldest one of Biscay.
