Vegueta - Triana: Location and surroundings of this property

The property is located in Vegueta and is only separated from Triana by the Guiniguada.
Vegueta is the foundational district of the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. It was declared a National Historic-Artistic Site in 1973.
The neighbourhood owes its name to the fertile plain that extended around the Royal fortification of Las Palmas, and was initially called "la Vegueta de Santa Ana". From then until the present day it has been the centre of the political, religious and administrative life of the island.
Today the district maintains the approximate limits of its foundation, with the ocean to the west and the mountain, now occupied by the neighbourhoods of San José, San Juan and San Roque, to the east. It maintains its character as the administrative centre of the city and has acquired a marked tourist character as it is the best preserved historic centre of the Canary Islands, where we will find the cathedral and the Santa Ana square, the Canarian museum and different historic buildings characterised by the typical Canarian balcony in these narrow streets of Vegueta.
Crossing the Guiniguada we reach the Triana area, the most important commercial and pedestrian street in the city of Las Palmas, where we will find the park and the San Telmo station, historical buildings such as the Gabinete Literario, the Pérez Galdós theatre and the Peréz Galdós house museum among other museums.
