La Ametlla de Mar is a fishing village of the Baix Ebre in the province of Tarragona. It is also known as La Cala.
It is located in the coastal area between Cape Terme in the north and Àliga ravine in the south. Limits the south with Perello, northwest with Tivisa (Ribera de Ebro) and northeast with Vandellos (downfield).
It has 14 km of coastline with different towns: (From north to south along the coast): Calafat, Sant Jordi d'Alfama, Les Tres Cales, The Ametlla de Mar (city center), Roques Daurades.
Fisheries are still one of the main activities of the people. The port area of Ametlla has a large group of boats engaged in the arts trawling, trammel nets, etc., and also features the first fleet of tuna in Catalonia.
The other economically powerful activity of the town is tourism and commerce that promote together the creation of new local establishments to provide better services to all tourists from L 'Ametlla de Mar.
