The City of Sant Cugat del Vallès (Barcelona) provisionally approved the classification of the Black Tower area as undeveloped land, which will shield the building space once the Government ratifies the final approval of the urban process.
With the modification of General Metropolitan Plan (PGM), Sant Cugat complete the "legal shield" of agroforestry, in pursuance of a judgment of the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC) which annulled the previous qualification endowed special Black Tower protection.
The area in question was, until the 50s, a group of farms with scattered houses with a small village near the church of Sant Cebrià. After phylloxera, the territory was transformed into a garden city populated by second homes of Barcelona families and neighborhoods organized around large rural estates of yesteryear (Can Monmany, Rossinyol, Can Enric - La Miranda, Regadiu and Colonia Montserrat). In the 70s an expansive process begins, increasing the first residences and appearing the first basic services given the distance to the center of Sant Cugat.
