In the center of the neighborhood is the Plaza del Dos de Mayo, with great significance for the history of the city of Madrid, located in the former site of the Artillery Park of Monteleón, where the resistance of the only military that took place raised in arms directed by Luis Daoíz and Pedro Velarde. At present the arch of the old quarter is conserved, in addition to a monument in honor of these captains created by Antonio Solá. Other places in the neighborhood are the squares of San Ildefonso and Santa María de Soledad Torres Acosta (popularly known as Plaza Luna).
