In 2018 it had 33 978 inhabitants, making it the second most populous of the interior of the province municipality only about one hour away from Malaga, the capital of the province with its international airport.
Round has its origin in the Roman “Arunda” which constitute from existing Iberian settlements. The city is located on a plateau cut by a deep ravine dug by the Guadalevín River. From the plateau you have a panoramic view over the breath-taking landscape. It possesses a variety of monuments in a natural environment. In spite of its proximity to the great centers of the Costa del Sol tourism, Ronda invites to a relaxing stopover.
The climate of the Serrania de Ronda is typical Mediterranean climate. It is characterized by hot and dry summers and moderately cool winters with several days of temperaturas below zero. In spring and autumn the temperatures tend to be soft and moderately warm.
