Its location in the triangle formed by Zaragoza, Pamplona and Logroño facilitates the connections with the industrial areas of the Ebro river banks and the automotive industry through the Ap-68 and N-232 with a driving distance of 40 minutes to Zaragoza, 30 km to Figuerelas and 24 km to Tudela.
In the center of the village it is possible to admire the San Juan Bautista Church in Mudejar style, and the 12nd century medieval castle, declared as a Property of Cultural Interest. As a residence for the kings of Navarra, its military aspect has been changed for a more manorial style and retains and interesting collection of oil paintings of different styles and schools (XVI - XIX centuries) . The old orchard of the castle is nowadays a huge municipal park where a large format chess is located.
Cortes is surrounded by plenty of natural spaces, breathtaking gorges, valleys and viewpoints, the extensive Irati forest, the Badenas Reales Dessert or the Lor lake, a fantastic space for bird watching, fishing and trekking. Besides, you can enjoy the Green Way of Tarazona which goes over the old rail line which used to join Tudela and Tarazona.
