The building is part of one of the 50 great Posesiones in the Pollensa area of northern Mallorca, sits on 248 hectares (620 acres) in the desirable Vall de'n March, 300 meters above the valley floor, offering stunning views across to the Tramuntana mountain range that contains Puig Tomir, Mallorca's third tallest mountain. From the tower and the two patios one can see not only the entire Vall d'en March and mountain range beyond, but also the Mediterranean Sea at Alcudia.
Constructed in the 1980s and 90s as a conservation center. Designed to host seminars and research on conservation issues, it resembles a large hunting lodge of days past. It boasts a library of nearly 1000 volumes on the Balearic Island culture, language, and environment.
This impressive building is roughly 280 m2 and boasts a large lounge area of 10m x 22m with vaulted ceilings; wooden beams and great 3m fireplace. It also has a kitchen, bathroom and two bedrooms, a stone patio that runs the length of the hall, and a breakfast patio on the east side off the main bedroom.
Ideal zone for hiking, biking, bird watching or hunting (wild birds, goats, and rabbits are plentiful). For those who enjoy nature at its finest and most original, there are wild martens, local mountain cats (ginetas), and other forms of wildlife as well as a wide variety of local flora. The area is also home to many eagles, hawks and the extremely rare Black Vulture, as well as being a temporary home to many migratory birds as they travel from Northern Europe to Africa and back again. For adventurers, the area is great for mountain biking, climbing, and caving. Sanctuary for writers, musicians, artists…
Vall de March is a lovely, little valley at the bottom of the Tramuntana mountain range, situated about 5 km away from the town Pollensa. The second highest peak of the island called Puig Tomir surrounds this beautiful village. Many old mills have been reformed into dream houses, which are surrounded by magnificent nature, quietness and pools. The area offers breathtaking views over oak trees, goatherds and flock of sheep. The sea is only a 15-minute-drive away. A little waterfall creates a creek, which leads into the sea and offers a spectacular view. Quietness and beauty are certainly the two most dominant characteristics of this area. This being the reason why many people chose to live or come here for vacation. Vall de March is the heaven on earth at the outskirts of Pollensa and a famous destination for going on a walk around the streets of the monastery Lluch and to climb the Puig Tomir.
