Santa Margarita
This is an enchanting town surrounded by traditional, rural landscapes and is a fascinating part of inland Mallorca, often overlooked by visitors. Just seven kilometres from the beaches of the Bahía de Alcúdia, the town of Santa Margalida could not be more different. Old, traditional and charming, the town presents an image of a Majorcan lifestyle that has almost completely disappeared on the coast line. Its main square, surrounded by trees, shops and tapas bars, provide an enchanting, typical and traditional atmosphere. The town has several supermarkets, bakeries, restaurants and there is a market every Saturday. A special recommendation is the sandy beach of Son Serra de Marina where summer Sundays mean the probability of live music at one of the local bars and possibly even chance to organize some horse riding in the area.
