Cortijo Piedra is a farmhouse which has been extensively reformed and upgraded, preserving the traditional character whilst adding style and up-to-date amenities for modern day living. The house is completely fitted with all new plumbing and electrical fittings, handmade wooden beams, doors, double glazed windows with shutters, kitchen cupboards, and bathrooms specially constructed with custom built walls and floors. Each room within the house has a distinct character, yet maintains fluidity & style and the theme of "old world meets new."
The main house is comprised of 4 upstairs bedrooms with private bathrooms (3 of them ensuite). Each with their own private terrace and views. Downstairs, there is a master bedroom, again ensuite, dining room, and three intimate study/reading/lounge areas. You almost get the feeling you were in a luxurious country hotel. The kitchen has been beautifully presented with wood and cast iron wherever you look. All modern appliances included. There are 3 main dining areas. One being the main dining room connected to the lounges, and the other two are outdoors. One is just off the study, where you have a beautiful cobbled floor with hand built wooden coverage and greenery. This is exceptional for a lovely outdoor and intimate meal. The other outdoor eating area is the patio connected to the main kitchen. Here you can have a fine dining meal, or a casual brunch, all the while taking in the views of the surrounding mountain side, olive fields, or the breathtaking gardens and pool area. If this wasn't enough, if someone within the family would like more privacy, the house offers an attached, but separate entrance to a beautiful fully fitted 2 bedroom villa.
Cortijo Piedra was run as a successful boutique bed & breakfast from 2009 to 2012.The business was awarded a Certificate of Excellence from Trip Advisor in 2012, as well as the Prestigious Trip Advisor Travellers Choice award in 2013. Surroundings: Location and surroundings of this property

This wonderful house is surrounded by a breathtaking natural landscape at the foot of the mountain ranges “Sierras Gorda y San Jorge” approximately 50 km away from the capital city. It is located within the boundaries of the city of Antequera and 5 km away from “Villanueva del Trabuco”. The location is perfect as it is possible to be in Málaga city within 30 minutes by car or the ski resorts of Sierra Nevada in 1,20 minutes.
The scenery surrounding the property is made up of soft lines of olive trees, cereals, and vegetable gardens dotted with workers’ houses and weekend getaway homes. Nearby, streams coming from the above mentioned mountain ranges and from the Gibalto, form the source of the Guadalhorce river. In its riverbank, we find poplars and ash trees.
It is a tranquil area where one can enjoy nature, the hospitality of its inhabitants, traditional local gastronomy and mild climate. The beautiful mountain ranges make it possible to go hiking and to enjoy other outdoor activities and adventures such as climbing, mountain biking and paragliding.
