Urduliz: Location and surroundings of this property

Municipality located in the district of Uribe Kosta. Its area is 7.51 km ², being located in the valley of the Butron River, on its left bank. Structurally the area is part of the so called “Vizcaya synclinorium” whose west-east direction, can be appreciated by some of the mountain ranges that run through this township.
The church of Santa Marina is situated in the rocks of the same name, where there were eight mills. From there , you can see the Biscay coast, from Punta Lucero to Villano Cape . In its fertile Vega, wheat, corn, beans and grapes for making txakoli was harvested. In the highlands the oak and, madroneoak, proliferated. In the late nineteenth century the castle of Butron was built with material extracted from Urduliz Quarry. In the recent years Urduliz has adopted new services for citizens as a new soccer field, a new skate -park ( bowl ) municipal nursery , new streetlights and pedestrian walkways. In 2009, the Basque Health Service ( Osakidetza ) presented the draft of the new Urduliz Hospital , initially was conceived as a satellite Cruces Hospital , to serve the population of 17 Biscayan municipalities , mainly in the region of Uribe. His inauguration is scheduled for spring 2014. Urduliz Township is located 20 km from Bilbao where you can access both, by highway, and by metro. It also is very well connected to the airport and to the major highways and public transportation.
