Ametlla de Mar is a fishing village in the Baix Ebre region, in the Tarragona province. It is in the coastal area between the Cape of Terme in the north and the ravine of the Áliga in the south. It borders to the south with Perelló, to the northwest with Tivisa (Ribera d’Ebre) and to the northeast with Vandellós (Baix Camp).
