The municipality of Sentmenat covers an area of 28.80 km2 and is located in the southern foothills of Montmajor, bordering the municipalities of Castellar del Vallès, Sant Llorenç Savall, Sabadell, Polinyà, Palau-Solità and Plegamans and Caldes de Montbui. Its town center is located at an altitude of 213 m.
The area enjoys a mild climate, sheltered by the mountains that border it to the north. Outside its municipality, it borders Sant Llorenç de Munt and El Farell, and within the municipality, with the Serra Cavallera, the Serra del Calvari, the Serra de Can Fruitós or de la Sagrera, the Torre Roja hill (where there is a circular defense tower of medieval origin and its Iberian village) and the Puig Rodó. Bordering between Sentmenat and Castellar del Vallès we find the characteristic mountain of Puig de la Creu (664 m), where there is a hermitage of the same name from where you can discover an impressive view of the valleys, even the city of Barcelona. To the west is the Sierra de Can Palau, covered with lush pine forests.
