Viladrau is located in a privileged place within the region of Osona, rises on the top of a hill 840 meters high on the right bank of the Riera Major. An important part of Viladrau is within the Montseny Natural Park. In 1978 UNESCO included Montseny within the World Network of Biosphere Reserves of the MaB (Man and Biosphere) program.
