Sencelles is a municipality in the centre of Mallorca, and is comprised of a town of the same name and hamlets, such as Biniali, Ruberts, Jornets, Judi, and Cascanar Laiar, which have a special charm, especially for those who admire a rural peaceful lifestyle. It provides several grocery stores, as well as restaurants and cafes, a pharmacy and sports centre, amongst others. It has around 3.000 inhabitants and the weekly market is held every Wednesday.
The surrounding landscape is part of the wine region with the denomination of origin of Binissalem.
There are a number of wineries, such as the "Celler Can Ramis", which produces and sells its own wine, "Son Prim" winery where you can taste their harvest.
The town is well-known for its statue of Sister Sor Francinaina Cirer, who was sanctified in 1989. Some of the elements and features from her life are preserved at her birthplace (18th - 19th century) at the convent of the Sisters of Charity.
Sencelles is very well connected with the rest of the towns and is about 30 minutes’ drive away from the centre of Palma, the airport, and nearby beaches.
