Costa Occidental: Location and surroundings of this property

Soto Iruz is a village belonging to the municipality of Santiurde de Toranzo, which belongs to the region of Pas-Iguña and is located in the middle course of the river Pas. Half an hour from Santander and Torrelavega and three kilometres from the magnificent town of Puente Viesgo, and the prehistoric caves El Castillo y Las Monedas, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2008.
A very nice area, with one of the most special and demanded routes in the área. La vía verde del Pas is a path that is now used for hiking, as well as cycling or equestrian routes.
There is a convent of Franciscanos-currently ruled by Carmelitas-, which constitutes an important architectural ensemble of the early eighteenth century, formed by church, sacristy and convent cloister. The ensemble of altarpieces of the church, together with that of the Caldas de Besaya is the most important in the region.
