El Arenal is a tourist area set towards the east of the Bay of Palma. The beach is 4600 meters long and is set between Llucmajor and Palma. The area provides a wide range of bars, restaurants, small shops, travel agencies and discotheques. Tourism and leisure are the area’s main activity, which also has a large number of hotels. One can enjoy the sandy beach, the promenade right on the seafront with the popular snack huts known as balnearios, as well as water sports: windsurfing, water skiing, a sailing school at the Yacht Club, diving centers, etc. Palma is only about 10 km. away and the airport is approx. 10 minutes by car.
