5 ingredients for a perfect CV

Finding the perfect job is something we all dream of. However, to achieve this it is essential to overcome a series of factors. Firstly, the information in your CV must be correct and, most important of all, it needs to capture the employer's attention. Here we are going to give you the 5 indispensable ingredients to create a CV that will help you get the job you want.

1. Concision

Experts say that a CV should have one page for every 10 years of work experience that you have. You should also bear in mind that the HR personnel are quite reluctant to read all the documents they are sent by candidates who have lots of experience in the position they are applying for. So, if your work experience does not directly relate to the job you are applying for, do not include it in your CV as you can use that space for something more valuable and relevant.

2. Do not make any error

If the hiring manager finds spelling errors in your CV, he or she will throw the document directly in the bin. No matter how many hours you spent checking your CV for errors, you may still miss some. To avoid this, give the CV to someone you trust to review it and point out the possible errors to you.

3. Do not lie

There is a saying: 'You catch a liar faster than you catch a person with a limp'. If, for example, you do not speak English, do not say that you are bilingual because, sooner or later, the company will find out. You may well get hired after the interview but, when you start facing difficulties carrying out the tasks in your job, it will give you a bad impression.

4. Design formalities

Never go over the top when choosing your CV's design. Obviously, this document has to look presentable but it shouldn't be designed in an outlandish way. Your main goal should be order and clarity. You should also try to give it your personal touch so if you are applying for a position in which creativity is important, use your imagination and enhance your CV's layout.

5. Detail your experience

Do not limit yourself by saying that you have worked for a certain company. Devote a few lines to specify what your responsibilities were, especially if they relate to the position you are applying for. In addition, if you can include figures and data that support your good performance, then even better. But remember not to lie or over-exaggerate about your experience.
