Chantilly, know as whipped cream, is originally coming from Italy where it was very popular during the sixteenth century. It was first called 'névé di latte", milk snow.
However, the famous cream was attributed to François Vatel, Chantilly Castle's butler and Nicolas Fouquet's pastry chef-caterer. The popular cream was apparently served during a party in honor of Louis XIV.
Symbol of the art of French living, the whipped cream has conquered gourmets worldwide. It has since been imitated and turned away from the traditional recipe.
Nowadays, the Maison de la Chantilly - House of Chantilly - goes back in time and makes us rediscover the unique taste of the French culinary heritage. The little fairy shop was built in order to create a dreamy atmosphere: bluish clouds on the ceiling, blue and white tiles and the perfect lightning. A small dream factory, in the heart of the prestigious 7th arrondissement of Paris, the boutique is located in the famous shopping street, Rue Cler.
One can purchase or even deliver its own fresh cream bottle, perfectly sweetened and ready to use. The original and traditional chantilly's taste will surprise you, a fusion between strength and lightness. The chantilly cone is one of the house's specialities. Take away or enjoy on the spot: it is up to you to choose !
We strongly recommend the famous Pavlova, based on crunchy meringue or the different O% yogurt mixed with chantilly. After a good meal, enjor a "Chanticcino", a dessert representing the perfect balance between coffee and... whipped cream of course !
