Tzia (Kea): Location and surroundings of this property
Kea also known as Tzia, is located in the western part of the Aegean Sea and forms part of the Cyclades and very close to Attica Peninsula.
Unique features: Ioulis the capital of the island. Ioulis is built on a steep slope on a high altitude and is different to other villages of the Cyclades in that it features red tiled roofed houses and arched passages.
A highlight of the island is its rich scuba-diving opportunities, providing excellent visibility and rich marine life. The wreck of a 19th-century steamship is a particular favourite for recreational divers and the average sea temperatures of 20°-26°c help! Yachting destination due to the numerous one of a kind immaculate beaches to explore all around the island.Top destination for hiking tourism, offers a well-preserved network of hiking trails. Part of this is an ancient road network that in the 6th and 7th centuries B.C. connected the island’s city st Big archaeological interest, featuring the ancient site of Karthea, recently awarded by Europa Nostra, and an archaeological museum that is located near the entrance of Ioulis ates.
Accessibility:The closest airport is Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos", which receives both domestic and international flights all year round. Upon your arrival at the airport of Athens, you need to reach Lavrio port (20 min drive) and embark on the ferry that transfers you to Kea (Korissia) in just one hour. Kea is very well connected with Kythnos and Syros all year around.
