Some venues have such a suggestive history that become immortal. One of them is Villa Corcos-Sordi.
It was built at the end of 1800 by the painter Vittorio Corcos on a cliff in Castiglioncello, so to dominate the Tuscany Maremma coast. In 1962, Alberto Sordi - one of the most famous Italian actors - felt in love with this property and decided to buy it.
It was the Golden Age and the sought-after seaside village Castiglioncello was the summer destination of popular Italian movie stars. Alberto Sordi and Marcello Mastroianni were among them. If Mr Mastroianni was an animal party, Mr Sordi wasn’t a socialite. He preferred to enjoy the privacy and the panorama of his wonderful villa, indeed.
The current owner has finely restored Villa Corcos-Sordi, being careful to preserve every fresco, every antique furniture, every statue.
This property by the sea is an architectural masterpiece. Panoramic terraces of 600 sqm and luxury finishes enrich it. In addition to the villa of 900 sqm, the property includes two independent outbuildings of 90 sqm each. The beautiful garden of over 4,000 sqm hosts centuries-old plants, statues and several lounge areas with sea view. Last but not least, there is a big salt-water pool overlooking the stunning Maremma coast and private access to the crystal clear sea.
