Living in Le Marche Italy: What to expect?

Well, let’s be honest. If you ever thought about living or retiring in Italy, you would have probably thought of Tuscany or Umbria but not about living in Le Marche Italy. Why? Simply, because these two regions have a little bit for everyone. They are also very identical. Both boast with beautiful rolling hills and vineyards, authentic medieval towns, and of course, great food. However, all these things come with a cost.

So, what does that mean? You will get everything you’ve dreamt about when you decide to move to Italy, but, would you be able to afford living in a place where everything is with high prices? The only reason why properties and cost of living in these two regions is very high is because they are in high demand.

What would you say if I told you that there is a place in Italy, which is not so popular, but it has everything that Tuscany and Umbria have, even a little bit more? This is Le Marche.

About the region of Le Marche

Located in Central Italy, Le Marche is perfectly nestled between Abruzzo, Umbria, Tuscany, Emilia - Romagna and the Adriatic Sea. Living in Le Marche Italy would be a great decision. Keep reading to see why. As I mentioned above, Le Marche has a lot of resemblances with Tuscany and Umbria. Starting with the hills covered with different shades of green, numerous vineyards and medieval towns rising high in the sky. Each of these characteristics make the region an absolutely perfect place for living.

But that’s not all. You will often hear, when talking about Le Marche, that the region has collected a little bit of Italy in one place. Imagine having the opportunity to relax on Adriatic Coast and within an hour you can be hiking in the stunning Sibillini Mountains. That’s right, just an hour from the beautiful coast of Le Marche to the impressive mountain range that divides Le Marche from Umbria.

Moveover, the region prides itself for some of the most beautiful villages in Italy. To be more precise, 28 of them are part of the association “I Borghi Piu Belli d’Italia”. All of these villages, and not only, have preserved hundreds of years of history, authenticity and culture. Completely untouched by human hand, they will automatically transfer you to medieval times. The beaches in the region are a must. Starting with the Conero Riviera which has some of the most beautiful and unspoiled beaches in Italy. Truly loved by Italian people, this area will definitely blow your mind. From the Conero National Park protecting the coast, to some of the most picturesque towns in Le Marche.

Why should you consider living in Le Marche Italy?

Now on to the main question. Can you see how much Le Marche resembles Tuscany and Umbria? It’s incredible how people who come for the first time here think: “Why we’ve never known that this place exists?”. And the answer is one. Le Marche has been quite often shadowed by its neighboring regions and that slowed it down in terms of tourism. But now this is changing. More people are getting to know the region of Le Marche. They see that the Marchigiani are very friendly and welcoming people, the cuisine is mouth-watering, the nature is incredible. In short, it has everything collected in one little piece of Italy.

Lifestyle here is very laid back. Traditions are perfectly preserved and events are present in every part of the region throughout the whole year. So, be sure that you will never get bored.

Whether you chose to live in the countryside, close to the sea or in some of main cities, you will fall in love with your life here. If you prefer living in a beautiful country house, surrounded by vineyards and accessible via a hidden path, that doesn’t mean you will be far from the rest of the world. Everything here is just a stone thrown away. Or maybe, you want to feel the medieval times when you go out of the door of your house. Then living in one of the historic towns in the region is your dream achieved. What about a charming seaside town where you only need your bike to reach the beach? In addition, most of the beaches in Le Marche have been awarded with a Blue Flag which makes them environmentally friendly and perfect for enjoying the hot summer days.

In short

The region of Le Marche is so interesting, so diverse and so affordable, compared to other regions, that you should definitely visit it and see with your own eyes. Just a week here is enough to convince you to come back and never leave again. The fact that the region has been less popular and visited has made it a perfect place to live. A place where you will never feel intimidated by too many people, you will never have lunch with tourist prices, and yet, you will still be able to enjoy everything Le Marche has to offer.
