The US rapper Birdman has sold his estate on Palm Island in Florida for 10.85 million US dollars (approx. 9.2 million euros). The neighbourhood is a man-made island that forms part of Miami Beach and is famous for its exclusive mansions set on prime waterfront land plots. Real Estate Agent Lourdes Alatriste of Engel & Völkers Miami Coconut Grove brokered the property: “Right now, we are living during a time when space is a luxury, and this home provides over 1,800 square metres of living area. Palm Island is the epitome of Miami Beach lifestyle and it offers 24/7 in-house security by the City of Miami Beach Police, which is a very big deal to current and prospective residents.”
The estate sold boasts seven bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, two pools, a cinema, two wine cellars, a bar made of onyx, a volleyball court, and a dock large enough to accommodate an almost 10-metre yacht. Birdman is not the first high-profile name to own this property. In 2016, the rapper bought the residence from Russell Weiner, creator of the energy drink “Rockstar”, and proceeded to carry out extensive renovation work on his new home.
Throughout its history, Palm Island has always attracted famous personalities. Al Capone, the infamous gangster, spent his final days here, before passing away in 1947. Other famous residents have included Gabrielle Anwar, Ana Gabriel, Rajat Gupta, Nick Nolte, Scott Storch, and Barbara Walters.
Bryan “Birdman” Williams is a US rapper and CEO of Cash Money Records. According to Forbes, he had assets of 110 million US dollars in 2017 and was the fourth richest hip hop artist in the world at that time. He can claim several chart successes to his name, including “Get That Money”, which he recorded with rapper Lil Wayne.
