Part of the 2014 Ultra-Trail World Tour, the internationally renowned racing circuit, the Lavaredo Ultra Trail is a 120-km long race with 5800 meters of altitude. The eleventh edition will take place in the heart of Cortina on June 23. For this occasion, Corso Italia will be illuminated with hundreds of front lamps that will guide athletes in their first mile of racing. At the event will be present athletes from all around the world, who will be able to travel 120 kms through the most spectacular Dolomites peaks: Cristallo, Tofane, Cinque Torri and the Three Peaks of Lavaredo. The major champions involved in the race will be able to cut the finish line in 12 hours, while simply enthusiasts will have 30 hours to reach Cortina.
The weekend from 22 to 25 June will not only be dedicated to The North Face Lavaredo Ultra Trail: two more short races will start from the heart of Cortina.
On Thursday, June 22, in the afternoon, the Cortina Skyrace will start to discover the Ampezzo basin.
The Cortina Trail will start at 8 am on Saturday morning. The 1500 competitors (closed number) will have 12 hours of time to cover the ring track, which will be the first 10 km and the last 37 km of the long race. The represented nations will be more than 60, Italy driving with its 46% of the registered runners, followed by France (10%), Poland (9%) and Germany (5%).
A great novelty for this 2017 edition is the Cortina Kid race, the children's race that will start in Corso Italia on June 23rd.
