While waiting for the snow to come even at low altitude, the Engel & Völkers Lago Maggiore team would like to present you three different skiing proposals around our wonderful Lake.
The ski resorts in this area are small but each year they host many lovers of alpine skiing, cross country skiing, ski mountaineering, snowboarding and the now very popular snowshoes.
On the Piedmont side we find the ski resort of San Domenico, a true snow paradise for sport lovers where you can ski up to 2500 m altitude.
If you prefer instead to ski while enjoying the wonderful Lake view from a special perspective you just have to visit Stresa, in the Golfo Borromeo, taking from here the panoramic cableway that will bring you straight to the Mottarone ski area.
On the top of Mottarone you can also take a ride on Alpyland, the original alpine roller coaster with a vertiginous Lake view.Moving to the Lombard side, just 20 minutes from Luino, the Passo della Forcora (1,200mt) offers skiing facilities with a breathtaking Lake view. Here we find a main track of medium difficulty and two short slopes for alpine skiing, without forgetting the many itineraries that you can walk with snowshoes admiring the wonderful alpine landscape, that ranges from the valleys of Luino, to the Lake Maggiore up to the Monte Rosa and Gottardo.
