The Salone del Mobile 2021, this year renamed Supersalone, will take place from 5th to 10th September at Milan Rho Fiera.
This will be a special edition that will have a different formula: instead of the classic stands managed by the individual exhibiting companies, inside the pavilions there will be a collective set-up that includes a division into walls on which the projects carried out in the last 18 months. The spaces will be enriched by common areas where appointments, debates and exhibitions dedicated to the history of design will take place. A new digital platform with unpublished editorial contents will also be added to this particular formula, here it will be possible to purchase online the fair’s exposed products. Visitors will be welcomed at the entrance by a forest of 200 trees which will then be transplanted to the metropolitan area of Milan.
The exceptional curator of this 2021 edition is the architect Stefano Boeri (President of the Milan Triennale), while the new president is Maria Porro. Moreover, the
President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella will also be present on the inauguration day.
Supersalone,
open to the public from 10 am to 7 pm, will be a moment of union between culture, design and economy.
As every year, during the Milan Design Week,
Fuorisalone will also take place from 4th to 10th September. Sustainability will be the protagonist of this edition, besides important personalities in the field of design and lifestyle from all over the world, that will present different cultural activities.
