Among the Carnival desserts,Chiacchiere can not be missing: crumbly and crunchy waffles that, covered with powdered sugar, spread throughout Italy. Often known by different names depending on the region in which we find them: frappe, cenci, bugie, you name it, this typical carnival dessert will delight everyone!
INGREDIENTS
500 g of 00 flour
140 g of icing sugar
3 eggs (whole)
1 egg white
4 spoons of seed oil
1 sachet of vanillin
salt
Orange peel
1 small glass of grappa
(for frying) to taste of seed oil
(to decorate) to taste icing sugar
RECIPE
Pour the flour, the icing sugar, a pinch of salt and the grated orange zest into a bowl, add the eggs, the liqueur, the oil and mix everything
Add the beaten egg white and a little at a time, all the remaining ingredients
Knead well until it forms a dough that will rest for half an hour at room temperature
After letting it rest, take the dough and with the help of a rolling pin, roll it out in a very thin sheet, with a notched wheel, make some strips and give them the shape you prefer
Fry in hot oil and once cooked, arrange them on absorbent paper to remove excess oil
Once cooled, sprinkle with icing sugar and serve to your guests.
