Porto Cervo Marina is among the most prestigious locations in Costa Smeralda. The Marina was designed in the eighties, with the aim of creating a more spacious and fitted port, making it today one of the best equipped in the Mediterranean. The Marina is also home to the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, founded in 1967 by H.H. the Aga Khan, Andrè Ardoin, Giuseppe Kerry Mentasti and Luigi Vietti as a non-profit sports association, intended to bring together members who love the sea and water sports. The YCCS organizes international sailing regattas, including world championships. In addition to a busy sporting calendar, the YCCS also promotes activities relating to the YCCS Sailing School and the One Ocean Foundation, an environmental sustainability project.
