Campofelice di Roccella, is a localized Italian town in the northern coast of Sicily, about 50 Km from Palermo and a about 20 km from Cefalù .
The nearest airport is the Falcone International Airport e Borsellino ”, which is about 86 Km from Campofelice di Roccella.
The first part of his name is a compound of "field" and "happy", with obvious meaning, the second part refers in the presence of a medieval tower on the beach. Campofelice di Roccella was founded by Don Gaspare La Grutta Guccio in 1699, when he obtained from King Charles II of Spain , the title of prince, the fief and the medieval Castle of Roccella, located on the beach, and the right to populate the nascent village, giving it the same name.
In the same year the prince built a hundred houses and a church dedicated to Santa Rosalia.
Between 1800 and 1900 the town was a flourishing center agricultural thanks to its mild climate. Today it is famous for the medieval tower Roccella on beach, for its proximity to the sea and for its long beach that stretches from Cefalù Capo Plaia to the mouth of the Imera River, for a length of about 20 km, and also for the hinterland rich in nature and mountains, and offers many attractions for tourists during the summer season.
