The shady forests around are especially popular with walkers and cyclists. Girlan is situated in a unique geographical position, only 9 km from the capital Bolzano and 10 km from the motorway exit Bolzano South. The airports of Innsbruck and Verona can be reached in about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
