The village of Bubbio, (from the Latin “bivium”, because it is located on the intersection of Roman roads between the Bormida Valley and the Asti area), is a village in the Langa Astigiana which has kept intact some important urban characteristics, with the old houses arranged on the sides of the fourteenth-century Via Maestra, bounded respectively by the castle and the parish church, and a series of districts, alleys and stairways that create suggestive views and stone corners forgotten by time. The town is only 10 Km away from the city of Canelli, with its famous wines and its underground wine “cathedrals “and 18 Km from Acqui Terme (a city dating back to the Roman period renowned for its thermal waters). Inside a territory rich in history and high quality food and wine tours, it represents a suggestive starting point for excursions to the Langa Albese with its hills of Barolo and Barbaresco, to the sea of the nearby Liguria or to important cities such as Milan, Turin or Genoa, only 1 hour and a half by car.
