The municipality consists of two different inhabited areas: the main one consisting of the residential area of Rancio, at the foot of Sass Marée, and the hamlet of Cantevria, on the other side of the valley. The town is characterized by the presence of the Rancina stream that crosses its historic center and is located in a strategic position as it is only 15 km from Lake Maggiore and 15 minutes by car from Varese, as well as 45 minutes from Milan airport. Malpensa and one hour from Milan, Lugano and Como.
