Fiumelatte: Location and surroundings of this plot

The hamlet of Fiumelatte, which houses the property, is not only a nice little village on Lake Como but also the name of the shortest river that flows through Italy – and only for half a year at a time. The river Fiumelatte (which, by the way, translates to "River of Milk) is about 250 metres long and only bubbles from the end of March to the beginning of October, approximately until the day of Madonna del Rosario. This is why the Fiumelatte is often called the river of the Madonnas. The village itself consists of only a few houses.
The town of Varenna with its infrastructure is about 1.2 km away, three minutes by car. From its old, small fishing port it offers year-round ferry connection to the other places around the lake. Lake Como invites water sports enthusiasts to a variety of activities and the countryside is a delight for hikers and cyclists.
The provincial capital Como can be reached in about an hour by car, and the city of Lecco in about 25 minutes. Winter sports enthusiasts can reach St. Moritz (CH), Madesimo, Bormio and Livigno (Ital.) in approx. 2–2.5 hours by car. The main infrastructures in the vicinity are the Lombard metropolis of Milan, with its international airports Malpensa and Linate about 1.5 hours away by car, and the city of Lugano (CH) with its regional airport, which is about the same distance.

Commission Details

The property brokerage engagement with “Finest Italian Estates S.r.l.” (an affiliate of Engel & Völkers Italia S.r.l.) and/or use of the services listed in our brochure or the property for sale on our property cards are governed by a specific agreement and pertinent clauses.
