The farmhouse is located at Pontone, a hamlet of Scala on the border of Amalfi, which until the early twentieth century was part of the territory of the municipality of Amalfi. The picturesque hilly village was appreciated since the Middle Ages for its relaxing atmosphere; for this reason the clergy and nobility of the Amalfi Duchy preferred this village as a place to stay and relax. The area, UNESCO World Heritage, is famous for its IGP lemons and the Valley of the Ferriere, a wonderful reserve to find unspoilt nature, famous for tracking and unforgettable walks. In recent years in the valley several accommodation facilities opened among them a farm restaurant that has entered in the Forbes Magazine ranking of the 10 best organic restaurants around the world. In the immediate vicinity we find the town of Amalfi about 10 minutes’ walk with its famous Cathedral and Paradise Cloister and many restaurants, bars and shops of all kinds. From Amalfi you can easily reach Ravello (6 km), Positano (15 km) and Sorrento (31 km) for a cultural excursion. While Naples Capodichino airport is 78 km away and the railway station of Salerno is 24 km away and by ferry or private boat you can easily reach Capri and Ischia.
