The ascent of the Sella di Ardena allows you to appreciate the amenity of the place and already offers a first viewpoint in the square of the parish church; then going up the mule track, you walk in the shade of alder, elm, willow, birch and wild cherry woods, in the coolness of the magnificent natural context offered by an almost totally open and verdant valley. The territory of the municipality of Brusimpiano, which stretches from the shores of Lake Lugano to the sides of the hills that dominate the town, is not vast but is rich in natural beauty and trails that allow you to discover it. The name Brusimpiano seems to derive from the Greek bruxino ("narrow", "fauce"), from which bruxino a plano, or "narrow flat peninsula", a toponym of probable Byzantine origin. The center of the provincial capital, Varese, and the motorway to Milan are 22 km away, while Malpensa international airport is 65 km away. The Swiss border can be easily reached by covering 6 km. Completing 18 km you reach the coast of Lake Maggiore.
