La Thuile: Location and surroundings of this property

La Thuile is the last Italian town on the road of the Little St. Bernard pass (SS26), historic step for links between Italy and France.
On this step (to 2188 m s.l.m.) they are in fact signs of the presence of Salassians, pre-Roman population of Celtic origin, who have left the cromlech of Piccolo San Bernardo.
Even more are the Roman era buildings: mansio Eastern and Western fanum Gallo-Roman, a courtyard building (perhaps a sanctuary), Jupiter's Column (Columna Jovis in Latin, Columns de Joux in French). In this period, the hill was called Alpis Graia.
