Conegliano is, together with Valdobbiadene, one of the two cities of Prosecco wine: the hills of the area between the two cities are mostly home to vineyards for the production of Prosecco; one of the most important wine roads, the Strada del Prosecco and Vini dei Colli Conegliano Valdobbiadene, crosses these cultivations, which winds between the localities of the Quartier del Piave, connecting the two capitals. [The denominations of the local wines are: Prosecco di Conegliano-Valdobbiadene DOCG, Colli di Conegliano white DOC, Colli di Conegliano red DOC.
It was proclaimed, together with Valdobbiadene, "European City of Wine" in 2016.
