Centro Storico: Location and surroundings of this property

Palazzo Pepoli Vecchio, owned by Pepoli family until 1910, is located a few steps from the Two Towers and it is the Museum of the History of Bologna. Palazzo Pepoli is a compendium of history. Outside it looks like a fortress, inside it is possible to recognizes the glory of a noble residence. Its facade, almost impenetrable, hiding a rare elegance. The current structure was built in 1344 as the 'fortified' residence of a noble family of Bologna. The building as we see it today, is the result of numerous additions and architectural layers. If the n.6 and n.8 were built in the fourteenth century, the n. 10 was built later, in 1723. A total renovation in 2012 by architect Mario Bellini, returned a true historic gem in Bologna.
