What you should know about this house

Amenities and special features of this house

The building is in the historical center and it has the name of one known families of the city of Marsala.
It is strongly influenced by the period in which it was built, characterized by a certain tendency towards eclecticism typical of Sicilian architecture of the early twentieth century. It distinguishes itself from the rest of the noble palaces of the urban center also for the decidedly clearer color of its elevation.
Of particular note and suggestion is the solution of the entrance portal, placed right on the beveled edge of the building. For years it has been one of the main cultural containers of the city, having hosted the "Francesco Pizzo" Civic Gallery of Contemporary Art, where the works of some of the leading twentieth-century Italian painters were exhibited, including Guttuso, Fiume and Cassinari.
The entire complex is on two levels above ground, placed in an angular position overlooking two streets. Built in the early 1900s, it is characterized by a ground floor of about 600 square meters consisting of some warehouses, a garage, some ancillary rooms, some rooms used as a former guardhouse and a large courtyard with direct access from the streets nearby.
Once you have crossed the harmonious and luminous entrance hall on the ground floor, you enter the first floor thanks to a very elegant staircase equipped with a large glass skylight. The first level, thanks to its characteristic style and according to its historical use, is identified as the "noble floor". With an area of approximately 550 square meters following the typical arrangement of the historic Sicilian palaces, it is characterized by an entrance, a filter / disengagement area serving the distribution to the various environments, a large main hall overlooking Via XI Maggio, and another five smaller salons, three bathrooms, a kitchen, two studios, three bedrooms, two closets and two terraces overlooking the inner courtyard.
The coverage plan is very interesting, currently accessible, from which it is possible to appreciate the extension of the historic center. At this level there is also a further part built of about 80 square meters entirely to be restored.

Marsala is the biggest municipality of the province of Trapani, both for the number of inhabitants and for the extension of the territory. It is well known for the Garibaldi’s landing as well as for the production of the namesake wine, which the British considered better off than the “Porto” and the “Madeira”. In fact, they started to commercialize it worldwide, making it a success already in the first half of the ‘800.
Marsala takes its name from the Arabs (Marsa-Allah, harbour of God), but the original name was Lilybeo, which has roman foundation in the III century a.C.. Since then, an entire area has been protected, representing today the archaeological park of the city.
It is a city that is encircled by the sea. Tourists have all kinds of possibilities, since it can please lovers of sandy beaches as well as those who prefer sporting activities. It is a pearl also under a landscape and naturalistic point of view.
Along the South coastline, you can find limpid and green sea, beaches with clear and fine sand, which can be either free or with bathing establishments. Among the little islands, there is the Phoenician Mothia, an authentic open-air museum which is set in a natural botanical garden.
Finally, the Lagoon is also ideal for those who enjoy water sports such as windsurfing, kite surfing and sailing. In fact, thanks to the frequent wind and the shallow water, also beginners can easily learn.
