St. Lorenzen: Location and surroundings of this property

The village of San Martino is a fraction of the municipality of San Lorenzo di Sebato and is situated at the confluence of the rivers Gadèra and Rienza at the entrance to the Val Badia. San Lorenzo, with its 3,900 inhabitants, enjoys a lively village life, which mainly takes place around the main square and the small bustling centre. Those looking for a little more variety can reach the city of Brunico in a few minutes by car and can stroll in the old town in one of the most beautiful shopping streets in South Tyrol. Thanks to its central location, San Lorenzo is also an ideal starting point for numerous excursions and hikes. For example, the Val Pusteria cycle path leads directly through the village and in winter, active recreational sports enthusiasts will find what they are looking for in the Plan de Corones ski area, just a few minutes away. A connection with ski busses to the valley station Riscone as well as to the train station in Perca offers a pleasant possibility to reach the mountain car-free. Due to its proximity to the Val Badia, the Alta Badia ski area and the "Sellaronda" can be reached in a short driving time. The municipality of San Lorenzo is also one of the most important contemporary witnesses in the Val Pusteria from an archaeological point of view and was once the centre of the Roman administrative district of "Sebatum". Other historical monuments, such as Castello di S. Michele, Castel Badìa and the Maria Saalen Church, give an idea of the significance of the place.
