Further Properties: Location and surroundings of this property

Magione, Umbria, near Tuscany
Magione is a city of very ancient origins, it is already mentioned in the year 1075, strategically placed as an important crossroads of pilgrims. Thanks to its position, what today is known as the Castle of Magione, or "La Badia" became a shelter for travelers in the twelfth century. Only in the fifteenth century the structure lost its hospitable characteristics to convert into a castle. On the first floor, the sumptuousness of the rooms testified to the now successful passage to a noble residence, without however completely losing its original features. Right in the rooms of the Castle of Magione, Niccolò Machiavelli sets the so-called Conjure of Magione, which established his reputation.
"La Badia" was always a significant stop for popes, sovereign and authoritative characters who passed along the Via Francigena and the hospitality of the knights was always comfortable and punctual. However Magione is known for being today one of the most beautiful cities from which to admire the beautiful sunsets over Lake Trasimeno, in a convenient location, easily reachable from Perugia, Assisi, Cortona, Todi and from all the main historical centers of Umbria and Lower Tuscany .
